Frequently
Asked Questions
What
is your photographic style?
My photographic style is a mixture of candid (photojournalistic)
and traditional (posed) images. This gives you emotional memories
of the event as it unfolds as well as images of you and your loved
ones looking your best.
Do
you allow unlimited reproduction of wedding images?
YES . My philosophy regarding copyright and intellectual property
is that your wedding is one of the most intimate events in YOUR
life and therefore YOU should have the freedom to reproduce these
images WITHOUT restrictions. I give you all high resolution digital
files on CD allowing you to make unlimited reproductions for private
use.
What
kind of equipment do you use?
I use the Canon digital camera system for its dependability and
features and have a complete assortment of lenses, from wide angle
to telephoto, which enables me to capture the event from a wide
set of perspectives. I also carry off-camera flash, umbrellas,
diffusers, reflectors and light stands that give me the flexibility
to work in all environments and lighting conditions.
Do
you have backup equipment?
Yes, I carry complete backup equipment on every photographic assignment,
from camera and lenses to flash and tripod.
How
do I know if my monitor is set too light or too dark for viewing
your images online?
Optimally, the brightness and contrast on your monitor should
be set so that you can distinguish between all squares in the
graphic below, especially being able to discern a difference between
squares A, B, C and X, Y, Z.
Will
you take the pictures yourself or will you hand the job off to
an assistant?
I personally will take all your wedding images.
Why
does your portfolio show multiple pictures
of the same event?
Many photographers post only the best shots of every wedding
they do. Hopefully they get more than one great shot per wedding,
but
who knows?! With my portfolio, I try to show an overview
of the way the event unfolded, which also gives you a pretty
good idea of my photographic style.
Are
there any other "hidden" fees besides what you post
on your rate sheet?
No. My philosophy of giving you the high resolution digital images
allows me to concentrate on being a photographer, which translates
into great savings for you by allowing you to choose how and where
to get your reproductions.
Can
I see the contract before I sign it?
Absolutely. Please see the Agreement
Form.
How
long will it take to get our pictures back?
If you choose the standard package (high resolution digital images
on CD), you should receive your images within a week. If you choose
to have me print the 4x6 proofs, please allow 2 weeks to receive
your images and proofs in the mail.
Is
there anything we should do to look our best?
Many folks come to Miami for the tropical climate but are unaware
of the strength of our sun and try to get a "tropical tan"
the day before their wedding...needless to say they get a "boiled
lobster" tan instead. Avoid the sun before your wedding!
You have the rest of your honeymoon to work on your tan. On the
other hand, if you already have a tan but decide to go strapless
or watchless, remember those tan lines...a little makeup will
help cover any lines up. The camera is unforgiving in recording
even the smallest detail, so try to conceal any cuts, bruises,
blemishes, etc.
.Black
& White or color, I can't decide. Do you have any tips?
Not to worry, because nowdays you can get black & white images
from color shots, and most mini-labs can do this upon request.
Basically what they do is simply print the digital file without
any color. The nice thing of going this route is that you can
have the image both ways, color AND black & white. Most of
these labs can also print your images in the "antique"
look, or cepia tone.
